Thank you Dr. Paresh from Ritesh & Family

Dr. Paresh is not only a doctor; he is a magician.

My mother, Darshana Shah, underwent brain surgery twice due to an accident. When we brought her home in late July 2024, she was almost unconscious (in a coma), taking food through tubes and breathing through a tracheostomy.  Mummy had another complication: her heart was very weak (operated on 25 years back, and the artificial valve had deteriorated over time). Our family, along with caretakers, was under constant stress that something might go wrong, except for the 2 hours when Dr. Paresh used to come for physiotherapy in the morning and evening.

With his decades of experience, Dr. Paresh used to assure us that my mother would start walking, talking, and doing all her work on her own. It felt like imagination back then. He clearly explained the stages of brain development and how consciousness returns. During the initial 1–2 weeks, when she wasn’t even blinking her eyes or responding to commands, Dr. Paresh did a lot of hard work to activate the muscles.

After that, when Mummy started responding slowly (she still had a tracheostomy and tubes), Dr. Paresh began increasing the strength-building exercises. While we were wondering how he was able to get her out of bed and onto a chair, he explained which muscles to support. He had a clear sequence in his mind on how to get her to sit, then stand, and then walk. He showed very good tactics on which back muscles we should support so that she could easily be transferred from chair to bed.

Slowly, my mother started sitting for a few minutes and walking with support. At that time, we realized that the VP shunt in Mummy’s brain was draining fluid too fast. So, we tried to close the shunt, which didn’t work. She still needed the support of the shunt, so we had to place a programmable shunt in her brain. In a nutshell, she had to be operated on a third time. Dr. Paresh assured us that whatever muscle memory had developed would return quickly. While we were following the advice of the neurosurgeon and physician, Dr. Paresh’s reassurance gave us the courage to go ahead with the third surgery.

Right after the third surgery, after placing the programmable VP shunt, Dr. Paresh started an aggressive approach. He had her walking with support within a month. He didn’t stop there; he started the next set of strength-building exercises, including climbing steps and going down. Within 3–4 months, my mother’s tubes, tracheostomy, and diapers were all gone.

The only challenge was that her right hand and fingers were still weak and not responding. Dr. Paresh brought a machine with experimental treatment to our home. He continued working on restoring feeling in her fingers. With his passion for bringing life back to my mother’s right fingers, he worked on it for a month. Doctors were not sure if she could regain full sensation on her right side, but Dr. Paresh made it normal. With that, my Mummy started eating by herself and doing small chores in the kitchen.

Other than Dr. Paresh’s extraordinary professional skills as a neuro physiotherapist, he is also a very good person. He is always smiling and engages my mother with positivity. He has a very positive attitude. Dr. Paresh does not take breaks in between (except for some festivals, etc.). His attitude, nature, and regularity give strength to everyone in the family.

With Dr. Paresh’s help, my mother (who was in a coma and surviving on tubes) was able to travel back to Hyderabad within 8 months. After Mummy stayed in Hyderabad, her health deteriorated due to various reasons, and we decided to bring her back to Baroda so Dr. Paresh could treat her again. Once more, Dr. Paresh brought her back to near normal within a month.

For us, Dr. Paresh is sent by God and is truly a magician. I highly recommend him for any neuro patients. Dr. Paresh will help the patient recover to the fullest extent possible if recovery is achievable.

Thank you very much for being in our life.
